Mental Plasticism

Abstraction - impulsive, unconscious, transcendent, starting from non-figurative art experiments of Malevich, Kandinsky, Mondriaan, goes a long way from ignorance to essential presence for understanding of modern art. Being quite trivial today, abstraction is not only a popular way to interpret the reality artistically, but also a universal creative language clear to anyone.

In my 'Mental Plasticism' series of abstract illustrations, I refer to the theme of distorted perception of 'insane consciousness' by so-called 'sane consciousness'. What is sanity? What are its limits? What color or what shape does it have?

You may find this dynamic tension of flat shapes and small-scale color to be an allusion to the renowned masterpieces of abstract art. That is because I never claimed to redefine abstractionism and go beyond this artistic movement. I claim to rethink subjectivity and narrow-mindness of those who believe themselves to be mentally sane.

Each artwork of 'Mental Plasticism' series is complemented by a quote, continuing this topic.

Following from one painting to another, and from one quote to another,  the viewer's attention is led from the external to the internal, where there is no place for aesthetics and only the final dilemma is left: If color combinations, geometrical shapes, zigzag lines, and semicircles are now familiar to the viewer from the times of modernism, if they do not scare or worry them now, then why does diverse mentality of people who had been living side by side with the viewer for centuries in every culture not only worries the viewer, but often brings fear and hatred?

All the artworks are computer graphics.
